Abounding Grace Church which was organized in 2001 after a period of prayer and fasting by Pastor Lionel Hudnell with the support of his wife Lisa Hudnell. Pastor Hudnell strongly believed that God’s people needed to come together in unity and fellowship and exist on principles of grace and brotherly love.
The church started in Greenbelt, Maryland in the apartment of Pastor and Lady Lisa Hudnell with six new declared members. After a short time of meeting the church moved to the basement of the home of one of its members in Mitchellville, Maryland where it began to take firm roots. The preaching ministry of Pastor Hudnell was featured on Power 1030 AM WWGB in the Washington D.C. market for about four months and was a blessing to believers throughout D. C. Metro area.
The church eventually moved to Margaret Brent Elementary School (now Margaret Brent Regional School) in New Carrollton, Maryland to have more of a presence in the public. The ministry involved itself in the community and held services at the school for two to three years. Abounding Grace then moved south to the community of Suitland, Maryland and began holding services at Princeton Elementary School, a more central location for the majority of its members. After worshiping in Suitland for a few years the opportunity to move into a more stationary location was presented in 2007 and Abounding Grace moved into a leased space at the Fort Washington Commerce Center in Fort Washington, Maryland. This location was the home of Abounding Grace for the next seven years and the ministry along with its members enjoyed many services, bible studies and events.
In the winter of 2014 Pastor Hudnell made the tough decision to leave the Fort Washington area and seek a different place to conduct ministry. Abounding Grace ended up at Tanglewood Regional School in Clinton, Maryland and now worships there with a goal of being a blessing to the families and individuals in the Clinton community and surrounding area.
A new chapter in the ministry of Pastor Hudnell began in the fall of 2015 as he was appointed the official Chaplain of the Eagle’s Rock Communion of Christian Leaders (ERRCL), an international association of churches, para-ministries and businesses. After prayerfully considering the progress of his ministry and the Abounding Grace Church Pastor Hudnell sought the Lord to redefine, restructure and recommit the entire work leading it in a more evangelistic direction. The result is now Kingdom Believers Church and Fellowship, officially launched in June 2017.
